It' a thinner neck, but I haven't measured mine to actually know where the exact differences are. I bought it because it played well. If I get a chance, I'll measure my 66 and the Geddy.

well, here's what it says on fender.com. under the specs of the bass.

Fingerboard: Maple, 9.5” Radius (241mm)
Width at Nut: 1.50” (38mm)

hope that was helpful to you.

Have you considered going down to Guitar Center and just trying them side by side to see if you like the thinner neck?

I don't know what "they're too corporate and I have kids" means. I do know if you won't go to any of the local stores you can't really try any guitars.

well, if you look at the specs and theres a noticeable difference, then you should try it before you get it... its an investment and i think going to a guitar center would be better than blindly purchasing one.... my friend has one and he says its a very nice bass, but i really dont about the neck in regards to others

I like mine a lot so far, but I went into a Sam Ash to try one (even thought they're a big corporate store), because I knew they would have one. You really don't know if it's what you like until you actually play one. Honestly, the one in the rack played a little betterthan mine out of the box, but adjustment will cure that.
