I mainly use the black Dunlop Jazz III's. Starting to get lighter with my playability as to the thinkness being ranging from .50-.90ish.

Sparky: If you've ever noticed, some concert-level guitarists toss them into the audience by the dozens.... before, during and after nearly every song. I can only assume they get them by the thousands and probably have them imprinted with their name &/or the band logo.

Like many bassists, some guitarists don't use any type of pick at all, just their fingers. Dire Straits guitarist, Mark Knopfler, is one who comes to mind. Some use a thumb pick and fingers (Chet Atkins) or thumb pick and finger picks, like a pedal steel player.

Some are that way from learning to play 'classical style' while others say they just got tired of dropping &/or loosing picks. Many bassists use a pick either because they want sharper attack, or else they started off on a regular 6-string guitar and switched over to bass..... maybe both. LOL

When I play bass, I can do slow and some medium tempo tunes with my fingers, but as a guitarist first, I just can't play fast tunes without a pick, especially since I'm not a string 'yanker' or a 'thumb whacker'. I guess there's not that much FUNK in Classic Rock...... even counting GFRR.

Guitar-wise, I've used metal picks (stainless steel) for about 30 years; although I tried Hot Licks copper picks at first and changed to stainless as soon as I discovered the silver type didn't turn my fingers green!

A friend gave me one of his Dunlop 73mm's and that's become one of my favorites along with the Medium pointed V-Pick.

Just ordered a pack of these. I hope the search is over.
Thanks Chet, I told them they were your recommendation.

You will like them!!!!!

The V-picks have arrived and I've been trying them out today and man ' Like them ' you bet, they are extraordinary, I've never used picks like these. Thanks a lot for putting me on to these. I've now ordered the premiere pack, after 45 years I've found what I've been looking for, perfect design, brilliant. Thanks again Rhumba

I got my set of V picks in the mail today, I have 14 to try! So far I've been very impressed with these, they feel great and I honestly do hear a difference. So thanks to the guys on here who recommended them.

I just ordered the Jam Package from V-Picks. I had Vinnie trade out the Freakishly Large for Glow Mediums. I can't wait to get them! :D

Thanks..... I'm sure I won't be. According to guitarists like yourself they are superb. I appreciate the 'backup'.

QUESTION: Which one(s) did you gravitate to (like best) ?
