Some more great Canadian blues players are Tony D.,Roger Howse and Denis Parker. Denis and Roger put out a fabulous acoustic blues album called Eagle Ridin' Papas that had old Son HouseRobert Johnson etc. covers as well as some of their originals.

Hi to ya first thing in the morning, thanks for the info it's unreal how much I've gotten so far from everyone in the forum, it's a pleasure also to learn of canadian blues players and thats the thing about my question it comes back with way more than I expected, and I wrote down the info you gave to me and will start looking today. thanks man.
P.S. you mention you have a 06 stratacoustic, I was trying to find one up here in can but
nobody had one, I would have had to order one in on the blined so I opted for my epiphone SST STUDIO and it was the last one in canada. Similar format but not the same
quality, still very nice though, and up here cost me 479 after tax, your must be much more expensive, how do you like it? Strats are my favs I have an 06 srv,50's lelpmm-sp90
epi biscut or some call ahounddog and a yamaha se700m that I use as an everyday and
jamer unit, I baby my srv cuase I simply have to much respect for steve ray. I thank you
for you response, write backs for me take along time cuase I can play guitar but my wife
say,s thats it,you know grade 8 edumacation, can't type worth a dam. see ya thanks.

Hi again, blues is a great tradition of american music which has followers all over the
world and up here in canada to, so I was thinking I,ed ask this question, can you folks
tell me if you,ve put a listen on an album by colin james, named national steel and whats
your thoughts? He,s a canadian who played with steve ray and many others along the
way and personally I think it,s a very good cut, the mans got the blues all through him.
Is he well known down south and does this cd get much play.

Glad that you found an artist you like. thoughts, most guitar players have their blue nights, I haven't heard colin james before this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQMJxLxf7MI ,cool song.

I've seen them both live and had a chat with Derek O'Brien. Great players, I enjoy stealing licks from them. :D

I'm so glad you mentioned Alan Haynes! I think he's my favorite guitarist who's name doesn't end with "Vaughan". I've gotten to see him play up close and he's just amazing. He's also a Houston native. 8)

Matt Schofield is another lesser known guy you need to check out if you're fans of SRV or Robben Ford.

There are sadly many great blues players that never seem to get there day in the sun.

One such player up here in the Northwest is Jim Mesi (the Jim Mesi band).
Jim is one of the most gifted players I have ever meant, and he's a really great guy when you get to meet him.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCpVUfGQyYg

Here he is playing one of his Fender custom shop strats (He has quite a few) and he is as par usual, tearing it up.

You can here more of his songs here,
http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/7250195

His version of sleepwalk he does it all with the tremolo bar, perbends and his fingers.
You will swear he is playing a slide, but I have seen him play this live, and he is fingering it all the way through.

Warren Haynes; Gov't Mule, Allman Bro's, and Himself. Awesome! Sound great when he trades licks with Derik Trucks. Another great blues/rock player. He mostly plays an SG. I wont hold it against him this time.
Now Deriks wife, sorry I cant remember her name, she plays a mean Fender. She is very good. He or She is lucky, alot of good music in that house.
Keep Jammin! Enjoy Life!

Not many people know this but years ago Warren Haynes played with David Allen Coe,the outlaw country singer, they lived in this county when they were off the road.
Warren was infleunced by bands like Vanilla Fudge and Mountain among others,he played me a tape back then of them doing the Vanilla Fudge cover of "Keep Me Hanging On" where he played a long solo,he told me that when he was up there playing it seemed like it was just a short time but when he listened back to it it went on forever :D ...he's a really nice guy.
Back then he would jam with local bands when he was here in this small town.

most people just know him from his guitar demos and to die for tone on youtube, but Gregor Hilden is a blues playing phenomenon!

Magic Slim.

The real deal Blues man who worked in a cotton field.

Also, Gary Parker. The influence of many guitar greats.
