Hi again, blues is a great tradition of american music which has followers all over the
world and up here in canada to, so I was thinking I,ed ask this question, can you folks
tell me if you,ve put a listen on an album by colin james, named national steel and whats
your thoughts? He,s a canadian who played with steve ray and many others along the
way and personally I think it,s a very good cut, the mans got the blues all through him.
Is he well known down south and does this cd get much play.

I always liked Colin James; I don't know why he didn't get more press down here in the States. I think he was overshadowed by some of the guys he played with (SRV, as you mentioned).

thats understandable, but he also gained alot of chops and skills from them and you can hear it when he plays, thanks to all who let him jam with them, us canadian boys are forever greatfull.

+1 for Tab Benoit--highly underrated/overlooked guitarist and singer. And my wife thinks he's cute, but I'll forgive him for that.

:( :( :( It is sad Blues music is not more mainstream. Some Markets play blues but I have to see it live(the best way), play it, get off SAT radio or computer. So many exellent musicians go unheard. Thanks to computers they get some exposure. It's my opinion that some the best musicians play Blues, Blue Grass or Jazz.(Country's great too)

I saw Jeff Healey about a year before he passed. Smokin' player. Colin James knows his way around the fretboard too. Saw him about 4 or 5 times. Lately I've been digging Warren Haynes. Just bought an album called Tales of Ordinary Madness. Pretty good stuff. Rock but with a heavy Blues influence.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Warren Haynes; Gov't Mule, Allman Bro's, and Himself. Awesome! Sound great when he trades licks with Derik Trucks. Another great blues/rock player. He mostly plays an SG. I wont hold it against him this time.
Now Deriks wife, sorry I cant remember her name, she plays a mean Fender. She is very good. He or She is lucky, alot of good music in that house.
