Probably been asked before. Bear with me ..new.

On the internet…Any good electric blues sites or blues tutorials out there? Featuring semi solids like my 335. Or my Washburn J6 big hallow body, with 2 hum buckers. Makes a serious noise even at low volumes..

Also, many guys have suggested lessons to improve.. I have been playing 3 years all from tutorial books and Cds. Found them most helpful why lessons now?

Look forward to all your replies.

If you're looking for a good blues site check out steviesnacks.com. While it's based around the SRV style of playing it does teach blues. If you're looking for an in depth look into blues playing I suggest John Ganapes "Blues You Can Use" books. The first book alone covers major & minor blues, scales, theory and covers a wide variety of styles.

Thanks Voodoo...Snap..John Ganapes "Blues You Can Use" Yes, got it. One of the first I bought. Once I had gone through the basic stuff that is. Still use it quite a lot.. Also got " Essential Blues " Dave Celentano simmilar in parts but some good solos of his own creation.
Regards

It is probably possible to become a good guitar player without any lessons at all, but I believe that lessons are pretty important for most people. Of course you can learn from books/friends/you tube videos etc. but if I were you I would certainly check sites like Guitar Tricks, or JamPlay both sites have lots of guitar teachers, who teach lots of different guitar styles, including blues.

+1. YouTube is a GREAT reference for lessons, as well as general repair/setup tutorials.

As far as taking lessons. I have never taken any, and I feel like it took me a little longer and more trial and error to get to the point I'm at now. I say take a few lessons and see if you think you'll get anything out of them. After playing for 3 years, I'll bet that you'd get a lot out of lessons as you already have a basic understanding of the guitar and can most likely learn new things pretty quickly by this point. Either way, good luck, and the best advice I have for you is to investigate any avenues you can and absorb as much information as you can.

Thanks again everyone. As lots of people say this Forum really does “ Rock “ there I go getting into the vernacular.. In fact all you chaps have really reinvigorated and upped my interest and practice. Love it love it, love it.

One more thing if I may…someone wrote that I come on the Forum trying to be superior!!!!
Explain to me…. how someone with my ability can claim superiority over all these guys who are bursting with information and informed advice.. ? I await your answer.
