Same story I have heard. Roy was amazing I never saw him without a drink.

Sad thing is I think he had like 5 kids.

When the local campus radio station and newspaper sponsored the Buchanan/Methany concert he requested that very loud amps be supplied and they brought in 3 Fender Twins of which he blew up 2.I had just bought the 1st Peavey Deuce in the province and was asked to lend it to Roy for the gig-knowing his record for being unmerciful with amps I declined-in retrospect though I should have said yes but where I had just bought the amp I was very aprehensive.

If you can get a copy, take a look at Roy Buchanan- Greatest Unkown Guitarist in the World

It was a PBS documentary. I think it was from around 1971. great stuff. I remember not long after they had one on a band called Redbone. Any geezers remember them?

Wow, it's nice to see people who dig back and investigate all kinds of music.

And tbazzone, welcome to the other side
We need a Geezer section on the forum or better yet maybe a whole Geezer Music Forum. Like an AARP for musicians only. No whining about what hurts, just music and old gear talk and the only digital talk would be about fingers.

The old stuff is actually what got me into playing in the first place. All the new "rock" music sounds the same to me...just sayin'
