sorry about the link guys, it works here, got it straight off Jeff's facebook page.

It's an excerpt of the new RocknRoll Party record, song is called "Walking In The Sand".

:)

Well why isn't there a pic of Miss Stone here, Andy? For reasons of consistency I shall put that right. Here goes:

PS: Blast, I'm too late; I'll post it anyway! ;-)

Hey Nutter, are you sure that's Miss Stone? It's got Bryan Adams written at the bottom of the picture.
But I gotta say ' I ain't never seen Bryan Adams look like that before '

Rhumba, that was just what I thought when I scouted that pic. However I thought to myself, 'well someone's going to spot it sooner or later!' and I let it go. I think it's nice of Bryan to be in the picture, don't you?

 Hahaha! I saw Bryan Adams at the Hammersmith Apollo just the other day, with Jeff Beck as it happens. I'm here to tell you, that photo definitely isn't him. Actually, maybe I'd pay him more attention if he did look like that.

Or is that crossing a certain weirdness line too far...? :|

I'm surprised at the lack of love for Joss Stone on this thread. I saw her a couple of years back and she was absolutely excellent. Cracking band too. I expect the woman's got all kinds of silly "celeb" tabloid nonsense circulating about her off-stage. Though I have no idea cos I give that stuff not a second of my time. Couldn't care less who she's sleeping with or what drugs she's taking: great voice and a really good stage presence - that's all we care about, no?

Cheers - C

Hehehe!

Don't get me wrong Joss Stone is an absolute Hottie and does have a cracking voice, but I just can't help but find her a bit fake.... I do however totally respect everybody else's opinions of her..... and Brian. I'm just being picky. :D

I have to say she does totally rock on "There's No Other Me" off Jeff's last album. Great track.

Andy

BTW: Rip, I'll take 50 of them points mate!

A picky guitarist - the best kind! :D

You have to understand, my musical tastes range far and wide. I'm into all kinds of stuff I couldn't possibly admit to on this Forum. The likes of Joss Stone and KT Tunstall are merely the moderately frowned upon bits I'm prepared to own up to in public...

Now. Where's my old German oompah music LP got to...?

Cheers - C

PS You're kinda wondering now, aren't you? "Is he serious - oompah music?" I'll leave you guessing...

Superb! Too rich! 8)

And the whole thing was just given one extra twist of oddness by the fact that in front of the video as I watched there was an ad saying; "Date Chinese girls - click here"...

What would Jeff Beck do with this music? I wouldn't put it past him!

Anyway. What's in those white sausages? Is it veal?

Cheers - C

It's called Weißwurst (white sausage), eaten with Bretzen (Bretzels) and sweet, grainy mustard; in Austria they also sometimes add grated horseradish. Delicious!

Blast! I'm hungry now!

We could establish a quarterly Weisswurst & Weissbier-gathering down south... necessary artifacts and beverages could easily be supplied.
Who's in?

Cheers lads

Excellent - but what's in it?

Me, me!

Years ago in Austria I had some amazing wurst that was filled with little nuggets of melted cheese that burst into your mouth as you ate your way through. Hot damn, it was fabulous!

My doctor and arteries say no. My greed says YES! :D

Alright Ceri, since I like posting about food very much I'll open that link to Wikipedia I provided for you, and paste the important bits here:

Wikipedia wrote:
(Weisswurst is) made from very finely minced veal and fresh pork bacon. It is usually flavoured with parsley, also known as beiderl, lemon, mace, onions, ginger and cardamom, though there are some variations. The mixture is then stuffed into fresh, clean pork casings and separated into individual sausages about ten to twelve centimeters in length and about two centimeters in thickness.

As it is very perishable, Weisswurst is traditionally manufactured early in the morning and prepared and eaten as a snack between breakfast and lunch—there is a saying that the sausages should not be allowed to hear the church bells' noon chime. Traditionally, Weisswurst may only be served until midday because the meat is not smoked and hence the sausage is made fresh every day. Before modern refrigeration technologies, in summertime the sausages would go bad before nightfall. Even today, most Bavarians eat their Weisswurst before noon.

The sausages are heated in water, broth, or white wine just short of boiling, for about ten minutes, which will turn them greyish-white because no color-preserving nitrite is used in Weisswurst preparation.

Weisswurst is brought to the table in a big bowl together with the cooking liquid used for preparation (so it does not cool down too much), then eaten without the skin. Ways of eating Weisswurst include the traditional way, called zuzeln, in which each end of the sausage is cut or bitten open, then the meat is sucked out from the skin. Alternatively, the more popular and more discreet ways of consuming it are by cutting the sausage longways and then "rolling out" the meat from the skin with a fork, or just ripping the sausage apart and consuming the filling.

Weisswurst is commonly served with a special Bavarian sweet mustard (Weisswurstsenf) and accompanied by Brezen and Weissbier.

Weisswurst is rarely eaten in parts of Germany besides Bavaria although it is available at well-assorted grocery stores and butchers throughout most of the country—a fact that helped coin the term Weißwurstequator.

Well, lads, I'm sure any Jeff Beck fans are now Weisswurst converts, and will happily join in when we have our artery-unfriendly white sausage feast!

Now, what's in the fridge... :-D

Cheers

Nutter

PS I'll be in touch when I bring back the proper stuff from Germany, ok?

Oh and to answer your query about the cheese-containing sausages: That's a different one. But I'm sure it will be obtainable for special British friends in need!

:) we shall see.
