I have noticed some of the interactions between member becoming a bit on the less than friendly side as of late. It is easy to get caught up in the moment and then bam post war.
I think a good re-read of the forum rules might be in order for some that haven't read them in a while or ever. I had to re-read them myself just to make sure of somethings that were bothering me.

My personal suggestions,

1. Follow the mom rule, If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. (Although a sarcasm font would be awesome.) Type is easy to misinterpret.
2. Read and comprehend the topic first, before you post a reply.
3.There is not a spell check or grammar check for posts.
4. Searching for a topic does not always yield expected results. So you may see a post from someone new about a subject you have seen before. How many "how do I identify if it is real" posts have you seen? You get my point.
5. There are kids that post here. Be cool with them. How else are they going to learn if not from us passing down the info.
6. If you don't quite understand someone ask them to clarify so a post war doesn't erupt.
7. Don't interact with trolls, that is what they want.

I hope I don't sound too preachy, I just needed to get that off my chest. I know this will only apply to a small amount of members here.

I apologize in advance to Mr. Brad Traweek if he feels I have overstepped my bounds.

Overall I'd say the Fender Forum is one of the friendlier environments out there as far as forums go 8)

I have found that also Toronado, like I said it seems lately some responses have been less than friendly, maybe I'm just lucky (or unlucky) to see more of that kind in the topics I have chosen to read.

did I miss something?. I apologize for not reading all of the threads, it became time consuming and some threads I couldn't follow so only read threads that I might post in. Some posters are not pleasant as results their posts, jump off the thread when that happens, message Brad if it is bad because the kids are alright and don't need input unless it is music or entertainment related info with the family oriented postage exception, love respect and concern for our Brothers and Sisters here. We care about them and they care about us that is how family's interact with each other.

+1. I'd say that for the most part, this is a pretty civil online community. That's the reason I keep coming back...well that and all the good guitar porn around here

+1 and if I may add... most folks who provoke fights are ousted out in pretty short order. I think as a whole, we do a pretty good job of policing ourselves...

Hey,that's good advice for people with good manners and common sense to begin with. :)
The trouble with the internet is that people can type things that are probably things they wouldn't say in person for fear of losing some teeth (if they have all their teeth to begin with).
It's much the same as dealing with people on the telephone, like I have to at work.
Anyway,thanks for being positive. :D

The vast majority of the time this forum is great, I agree. Also, I would not expect everyone to read every topic posted, I only read topics that might find interesting. Like I said, this has a recent development I have noticed in topics I have read. Written opinions and statements are easily misunderstood. All I am suggesting is before you post a reply, read the whole topic and really understand what is being said, think about what is being asked and your answer before you reply and reply with a constructive answer. If you can't, don't reply, it is very simple. I am by no means saying you can't disagree with someone or that you shouldn't post something if you do. Just think about what you say and how it may be received by other readers. A little bit of courtesy and good manners do not hurt. If you already apply this to your posts and replies, you have my thanks and I sure others thanks as well.

I'd Say This Is A Great Board Compared To Some Of The Stuff I've Seen On The Net. Really Informative. If You Like To Fight You Can Find It Out There. Lets Stick To Music.

**yawn** what did I miss?

There has been a bit of an attack on the kids- not cool.. but myself, I do try to keep it r-e-s-p-e-c-tful even when the topic goes a bit sideways. I guess it's how good people debate..

We have to remember though, this is the internet so there are more people here without manners than real life. Also, we are international- so one mans praises will be another man's rant- Not everyone is the same or lives the same, so behaviours will be different for us all. Cultural, political, religous etc.. we have to respect it.

All in all- we are a good bunch of people :)

Anyways, if I myself have upset anyone- please accept my apologies... if thats me that is :?

I love this forum and I find it is mellow most often. They didn't have this whole internet deal when I was growing up.You went outside and played on your bigwheel or you grabbed your best buddies and started a band and generally drank beer if old enough (or not) and talked about how you were gonna take over and tour the world...ahh !!!the good ole days
I think with the introduction of the new Mustang amps and the fuse software has led many people to the Fender forums ,good and bad.The fuse software directs them here an most are cool but some are trolls. You gotta take the good with the bad.I have noticed a huge amount of new members since these amps have come onto the scene. It could be just that I'm imagining it  Either way....I agree we all should be respectful to each other and especially helping out some of the younger folks here.Like I said ...we didn't have the internet and it is such a cool tool if used in the appropriate manner.So...just take a deep breath, grab your instrument of choice and jam out when things get squirrely around here.Respect...and be respected ,thats all I gotta say 8)

i'm suprised you made this topic, but you have gotta point. we have to treat new people to guitar with respect, i mean how are they supposed to know if tuning a non-fender guitar with the fender online guitar tuner is gonna work or not? (and that was serious, i'm sure i wouldv'e made a common mistake like that when i started rockin out)
i've noticed lately alot of the youth on here (particually me and floyd) are getting alot of $@!& thrown at us lately, like its ok to joke around, and i think some of the dudes took it to far on a previous topic i made

and +1 to the sarcasm thing, alot of sarcastic comments are mistaken for serious comments like that *babble and drool* topic floyd made. most of it was a joke, but some dudes took it seriously. :?
