Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

iReal Book ($)
Guitar World Lick of the Day (Free samples, then $)
Tempo (Metronome, not sure if it's free or not)
Touch Chords: Jimmie Vaughan (Free samples, then $)

Virtuoso is a free piano app which helps if you have a simple chord progression to show someone and don't have an instrument handy.

And for listening to music download the Wolfgang's Vault app. You get access to tons and tons of free concert recordings from hundreds of really good artists, especially in rock and blues genres.

Apple has an iPhone mini in beta now. Maybe it could double as a pick.

Here are my music related apps:

- GuitarToolkit: Huge library of chords, scales, a tuner with different tuning options and a metronome. Must have app for any guitar player. Costs 9.99$
- Capo: Permits you to analyse the song by slowing it down, change the pitch, add loops, etc. Costs 19.99$ (Yes a bit pricey)
- Shows: Shows you all the gigs of the artists in your music library. Costs 1.99$

Those are apps I really recommand. Definately check them out.

As some of you may now, in my free time I work as a freelance designer. I design websites, branding and interfaces for Mac and iPhone.

I could try to design a mockup of a Fender iPhone application if anyone is interested.
Would be really nice to have an application. It's a pain in the a** to always open Safari and takes such a long time to browse forums and/or post a reply.

I'll post a mockup in the next days.

I use Guitar Toolkit on a daily basis and on the Touch gen4 (with built in mic) it is a great tuner. Couldn't function without it. Also there is an app called Fret Surfer which tests your knowledge of notes on the neck and where they are located. I think it is still out there. Great when you are stuck somewhere and want to do a little practicing.

Love my Apple products

I just searched the index for any mention of Wolfgang's Vault and found this. I've been
listening to some very rare live performances - great site! -and now I'm seeing that
there is an app for it - nice! 8)

Gibson's learn and master guitar. Tons of features including studio share and it's FREE!

AmpKit. Cool amp modeling and recording app.

Rock Prodigy. Kinda like guitar hero and rocksmith, the difference is that it's a scrolling guitar tab. Very cool and it even has lessons.

Garage band. Worth the 5 bucks.

I have a few more but these are the ones I use the most.
