Thanks for the link Mike. What I feared, music acts devoid of talent exception a few old people. Sad that young aspiring musicians may watch and be influenced by these crappy impostors. Hope and prayer then maybe next year will be better. 8)

Often times, that is built in as security so that -- in a pinch -- a fill-in is immediately available. One of the guitar techs for Metallica has filled in for James Hetfield, and Tommy Thayer in Kiss was Ace's guitar tech. There are other examples.

I just watched Tyler. I’m thinking the in-ear sound monitoring was off or the floors or, perhaps, Steven was having too much fun before his act. Yeah, he’s getting older like me (he’s 3 months younger Phht!) But, even this age, I thought Steven was not on his game, and I like the frontman of Aerosmith. :|
And, Rollie as for your fear, I agree:

That brought me to think that so much music with a blink in the not too distant future will be left to Tribute groups and impersonators. Not that they aren’t entertaining, but what about originality? These super stars and supporting writers will have left the stage to the common denominators and each lost artist’s unique style will be history if not carried forth with mentors. It’s not just on stage either. It’s also the losses behind the decision desk in the office, and the rounded experience and creativity in the control room from years of osmosis and crossovers.

Hey, not to take away from the lyricists, artists, and producers of today; but, that is art that can and will exist, with or without the others, only the rest will mostly be gone forever as we see mass exodus from our lives.

Still, I feel there will still be some diamonds to adore, we’ll just have to dig a little harder as trends come and go. We’d be wise not to throw out the existing gems that have value. Sometimes, what is shiny now dulls pretty quickly.
Some day music will be created with a one button push, random arrangements, random instruments, and sampled vocals, and then it will be a new definition for a producer and musician. We’re almost there. :roll:Okey Dokey.

Eastwood Mike. Might be an original or a Valco clone.

I’ve always found interest in those funky outa the box designs they make. Never played one , but my guess is their pre-wood models were/are heavy.

I also thought that white mystery might have been Eastwood (or less likely, maybe Vox). However, I couldn’t find the answer on any searches using Eastwood, Valco, Vox, Steve Perry, Grammy addresses with and without the word guitar nor doing photo/video searches. I checked headstock shapes and signature names, and Perry's headstock name can be found on some photos that I saw and zoomed in on; but, I’ve yet to see a closeup that is not out of focus. Looks to be most likely a letter A or less likely G in the beginning of the name on the peghead. Last letters could spell ‘liner’ as in Airline, and then again it looks to be a bit of a stretch or perhaps a stylized signature. I thought Eastwood would have made mention of it or maybe a guitar periodical. If so, it escaped me.

Tough call, but I think you are right, Rollie. My guess is it is a custom Eastwood. The mini switches as laid out on that baby would point to, perhaps, a mod and, if not, I couldn’t find them stock as laid out; but, then I haven’t seen them all :P You could corner one of the gang at Eastwood Guitars in Chicago and make ‘em fess up .

Yea, maybe an Eastwood Backlund custom.
