Nice! If I'm not mistaken, that's a clip from the very watchable Film documentary "Elvis- That's the Way It Is". If you scout for that film, make sure you find the version you like, for there is a newer re-cut with extra material and less talking edited by Rick Schmidlin, which is worth it's while. It shows a lot of the interaction between Elvis and his fellow musicians on stage and in rehearsal, and there are many spots which are plain funny!

Cool clip Mr Blertles! :)

Why, thankyou :)

as a matter of fact, that movie was the very last thing I sat and watched on TV with my old man before he passed and it holds a special meaning to me. I am glad it was Elvis that gave me that memory. I am going to hunt that DVD down and buy it come rain, hail or shine.

Here's another legend with Scotty Moore & co. It amazes me at that age, Scotty holds his own with that lovely Gibson. Pure genius. He paved & led the way. He sounds soo good!!. I would love to see a S.Moore tribute Tele. Only Paul was good enough for that session..

My sympathies and - is it not a good thought that now your father can go to Elvis concerts every day, if he pleases? :) Lucky man!

Scotty is not the only one who could pluck a string up into his old age. Take Les Paul for instance! But it is definately interesting which legends burn a steady wick and which suffer from spontaneious combustion. In that respect a good dozen drummers of Spinal Tap come to mind.

:D

Enjoy that movie. I have it on VHS over in some removal box in Germany, I'd love to watch it again. I too will have a look for a DVD as it's format is probably of a more durable make. Maybe there are some Extras? That would be cool! Maybe they have a double DVD set with both films, the original and the edited version. I haven't seen the old version yet, I'm interested in the interviews. :)

Cheers-

Nutter

He probably is having a ball at all the concerts up there! 8)

Before I nod off to bed, this clip is just outright amazing. It's funny how much technology has evolved, it has enabled him to be brought back to life in this vid with Celine Dion:

Beautiful song.

I wish I was around to see him alive. Not only was he the King, but he was just a clown of a comedian on stage. A true man.

strange, you must have pasted the previous link again by accident. Is there a chance you're not fast asleep yet and could post the one you mean? :-D

Here you are, Blertles mate, and not at all pricey. Dunno what the going rate is in OZ though...

That's Allright, Mama!

P.S.: For further reading: Peter Guralnick's two-volumed biography is priceless, and blends a good mix of the man and the music. Worth a read!

I don't know that I'd agree with that. Tupelo isn't really what you'd consider to be cajun country.
