So I'm buying a Danelectro Baritone tomorrow and I'm a little concerned with playing it out of my Frontman (25R) or my Hot Rod Deluxe. I've heard that you can't play a baritone out of an electric guitar amp because it has the same effect as a bass would, like it would blow the speaker. Is that correct? I don't want to get it tomorrow and then destroy one of my amps.

Any answer is appreciated!!
Thanks guys!!
Mike

P.S.
It's tuned B to B (BEADF#B). So it's a 4th lower than a normal guitar.

Line 6 amps seem robust and rather tolerant of what one feeds into them, in this opinion.

Everybody seems comfortable with playing a baritone through a Line6, but what about a tube amp (such as the OP's Hot Rod Deluxe or another similar tube amp)?

A baritone guitar (preferably a Fender Bass VI but probably the Danelectro baritone) is on the big "Eventual Purchase/Wish List", but I've wondered about the safety of my '63 Re-issue Vibroverb with a baritone.

it should be fine there are country players that use baritones ...korn used tube amps.....many extreme metal bands use tube amps and have clean bits.....joe banomasa has a song tuned to c......soundgareden used alot of low tunings...i can keep going you may need to adjust eq and if you hear your speaker farting turn down vol use your best judgment but the average modern 12 inch speaker can handle the low end. i have played seven strings threw a hot rod deluxe. My current amp is a blackstar tube amp and have had no problems.

Unless your planning on stringing it with bass strings you should be alright.
Slipknots Jim Root and Mick Thompson play in B and A through standard amps. Jim uses an Orange Rockerverb. As he does in Stone sour and they use Drop B as well, and static X, QOTSA etc

When I play metal, sometimes I'll tune my SG to C... sure, it's not B, but my Deluxe takes it super well.
