Me again... " Guitslinger " has kindly recommended a Blues pedal that would help me get more of that sound from my Amp… This brings me to the subject of something else I have little knowledge of…I don’t wish to play heavy rock stuff with lost of loud noise. My darling wife would leave me ( Hold that thought )
However I would greatly appreciate any advice on pedals that might enhance my enjoyment and give me some nice sounds to try.. My preferred Genre as I have said is Blues BB King, John L Hooker but I do play Santana, Hendrix, Clapton, Shadows.
All advise ? opinion greatfully received.

Regards

After losing my complete pedalboard to a flood a year and a half ago, I decided to try something different and went with a Digitech RP-500. With looking at over $1500 in pedals to replace, I figured I would try it out and I am very happy with it, I will at some time replace the pedals I had(or close to it) but for now this does what I want and with no issues. Hope this helps.

Hi again Strat789,the aforementioned Bluesbreaker pedal has both a pre and post gain which is basically a master volume that you can overdrive to generate a pure blues tone such as Clapton got in his "Bluesbreaker"days, without rattling the windows.I have the Marshall Guv'nor pedal which is a similar layout but more for a classic rock tone than blues and I can get very heavy tones like a hyper-overdriven amp but at bedroom volumes and the Bluesbreaker pedal will give you the same type of performance but give you your desired blues tone. The reason I suggested the Bluesbreaker in the first place is because it is the pedal that most realistically emulates the warm overdrive that the classic blues players desired and achieved yet at a reasonable volume.

FullTone OCD is a killer pedal. it also mates up with a MXR CarbonCopy rather nicely too.
those two pedals will carry you a long, long way.
or if you can afford it a Paisley drive is amazing and too pairs up with the MXR very nicely too.
