Old is a state of mind, not an age. If you feel like you want to form a group, or whatever, do it. It is said that you really cannot get really good unless you practice with other musicians. If you are having award time with live people, try backing tracks.

Have fun and always follow the heart.

Hi Strat, welcome aboard. I was about your age before I ever played out. Sat in at the local jam, made a fool of myself but loved it. I felt ten feet tall after that first jam experience and have gone back many times. You can really improve your playing in a group setting and most of the musicians are great guys and willing to help with a few pointers. You are never too old until you think you are too old.

For anything in Life, you are too old when you stop breathing
If you enjoy the challenge, then enjoy life, let the critics be miserable :)

Welcome!

Personally and to paraphrase a well known redneck sage...

"...'will stop playing guitar when they pry my Jazzmaster from my cold dead fingers."

+1!

You're only as old as your birth certificate says -- but that means nothing as far as state of mind or largesse of the soul.

RAWK ON!
