How do you consider players as artist I've played Fender for 51 years now but I'm a side man with no recordings of my own but have played bass for country players such as Dick Curless, Kenny Roberts and some other not national known. My profile picture comes from a show opening for Big House in Northampton MA.

Welcome to the Forum johnny810. Do you limit you art to being a sideman/bass player or do you play other instruments, paint, sculpt, write?

I'd Say Your Already An Artist And You Are Creating Art. I Play For Fun And The Challenge. If My Name Ends Up On a Recording Some Day That Would Be Great Too.

Welcome.

In this jaded opinion, the moment one creates, whether with pen, pencil, clay, stone, wood, steel, glass, metal, music, words, sound, mud, chalk, cloth, paper, plastic, rhyyme, voice, computer...

...they have become and forever after are an artist.

What direction(s), level(s), breadth(s) or depth(s) mediums(s) devotion...

...one thereafter chooses to take their art is purely a matter of "artistic license."

+1!

And when one is paid for their "creations", he or she becomes a professional artist.
