Oh, that's a JMP 2203 (Mk.II Master Volume). Based on the assembly date, I call it a 1977.

Next month will be it's birthday, I bought it new 33 yrs ago.

If memory is right, that guy in Alabama (Jeff Cook?) used to play a double neck Strat on a bunch of their hits.

It weighs 12 and a half pounds (not that bad).

Really Nice OO. The weight's not that bad considering some of the old Les Paul's weren't that much lighter. Really nice! Thanks for sharing that one.

The upper neck employs a shorter scale.

Yup, I still have it. Six years old, I guess. Time sure flies.

I haven't sold a guitar in decades. Much to my wife's chagrin. But in my defense, I haven't acquired anything since that doubleneck.

I did sell the bodies of the two brave MIM guitars that gave up their necks for this project.

The body was made by the talented folks at Warmoth.

Ha - fun indeed!

It reminds me that Fender Japan currently have a doubleneck in their catalog, a 12+6:

Though I like Orville's better: nicer body shape, colour, fingerboards, yadda yadda... 8)

Cheers - C

Thanks for that pic, Ceri (and the kind words). Let's see, that MIJ has a volume on both necks. Looks like a single tone control and a mini-switch for selecting the neck.

Here's a current Custom Shop offering at The Music Zoo:
