Very cool Tim, let us all know how you make out with it.
way cool jr, Great score!! See if the Champ has ever been recapped, if it hasn't that would be first on my to-do list. It won't be expensive and possibly save you some heartache later. I have a 74 that I play almost daily. Really sweet sounding amps.

Absolutely Supro...a full review will be in order once I have the chance. Had it not been for you guys here I'd probably still be trying to decide on what to get, or worse I might have bought the Kustom Defender :?

According to my UPS tracking number. My gear will be here by the end of day on Monday. Along with the amp, I ordered a 25' Mogami gold cable, a nice Yamaha Tuner, some picks and a string winder with a wire cutter on it.
That Mogami cable is $60 so it better be worth the price, but I've only heard good things about Mogami so I'll take the risk on this one.

geez, how much of a refund did you get!
i remember going head to head with niki on cables. he believed there was a difference and i believed that there were differences up to a point. i think we were both right.
i bought a couple monster cables just to give them a looksee when i was a loyal whirlwind fan. when you get the cable in your hands you will notice a difference rightaway.
they feel heavier and thicker for a reason tim.

Let's just say it wasn't huge, but enough for the few things I needed. And some gifts for my lady

I'm with you on the cables. I believe that to a certain extent a better cable can have it's benefits. I however don't think that any cable is so superior that it should cost $200. I have been using a nice DIY Canare cable for the last 15 years, and although I've never used Mogami cables I went on a limb and put my trust in their reputation.

My latest bang for the buck little combo amp is a Blackheart Handsome Devil. Switchable between 7 and 15 watts, with a 12 inch American voiced eminence speaker. It looks good, sounds good and is very sturdy. I got it for right around $300. Check them out if you get the chance.

When I first started looking at demos, I really liked the BlackHeart, and in fact I will probably pick one up at some time in the future. But I chose the Jet City over all the other amps in it's price range due to the fact that it had reverb, and has great 'crisp' tone.
