bmw

just pokin ole tim in the ribs a lil bit. hes young and can take it.
(probably deserves it somehow that we dont know about) :P

i get excited when i see somebody getting excited about
a guitar they are getting or a amp. its always better if the
purchase is still a bit off cause the excitement builds for them
ya know. what would be funny is if we could somehow get a letter
to him all doctored up (IRS like) a day or two before hes expecting his refund,
stating that its gonna take another month or two to get his refund to him
for some yadda yadda reason or another.
i just dont think we would be forgiven when the check comes in anyways BMW.

MY favorite low watage amps are my Mesa Boogie 525, Peavey Classic 30, and Fender Blues Jr.. I get some great sounds out of the Mesa 525 when it's set on 5 Watts. Tube amps are the only way to go.

Anybody got experience with the Kustom Defender combo? Just found a few brand new for $499...might just jump on it when my money comes in. The only good demo I've found is from Guitar World, but I must that Paul Riario's demo of it sounds great.

So after your comment Rick, I went and read some customer reviews on The Defender, mostly good, but quite a few complaints about reliability and a speaker that is overpowered at higher volume level. I've decided to quit shopping around and just go with my gut instinct, which is telling me to get the Jet City setup. I've decided that Mike Soldano being the designer of the Jet City Amps has lent itself to an amp that is tonally head-and-shoulders above the rest. And I have read VERY few reviews that had any complaints whatsoever.

So folks...if this thread was the Jerry Springer show, this would be my final thought...
I'm gonna go with just the Jet City jca2112rc combo. I think for my style that will be a nice amp. Not gonna worry about the extension cab at this point as they are readily available at a low price if I feel the need to expand the rig a bit for some more speaker volume. And I'm gonna pick up all the random case candy I need/want. And the tuning key on the B-string on my Tele started slipping a little tonight when I was re-stringing, so a set of 6 will be ordered and I'l have some spares. Possibly a pickguard, but as much as the black look is boring, it's kinda cool with the chrome hardware, so who knows.
Thanks again everyone for your advice and opinions on this topic. I'll be sure to record a full demo of the amp when it arrives...but once again, money must precede the purchase, so I'm waiting like a little kid waiting for Santa  .

ok first, stop shopping around. your second guessing your jetcity choice.
you really want it and your gonna end up talking yourself out of it.
mike designs good amps bro, you will love it.
as for kustom i have experience with 3 of them. all 3 ended up blowing on me.
these were the old days amps ok, its been since the 80's that ive messed with one.
i wont ever give them a second thought again. pure junk in my best opinion.
i did hear one at GC a few months ago it sounded ok but as i rounded the corned i saw
it was kustom and didnt pay any attention after that.
