Haha! Yeah, me too Mike. I was into surf and folk, (which I never really left), but couldn't stop from getting a "Beatle Jacket" y'know, with that nehru collar thing?

And then they went psychedelic. Woahhhh!

I remember our principal banned Beatle boots from the school, his reason being that they scuffed the hardwood floors despite the fact that the soles were leather just like his shoes. My parents were pretty pissed with him because we were hardly well to do and that meant they had to go out and buy me a pair of"sensible"shoes. In those days even most parents feared the wrath of the principal.

I've tried posting this once and lost it (Spooky)

I can remember it very well. We were also playing instrumentals at the time, like Miami Mike but being from the UK we doing Shadows stuff. Then the Beatles came along and everything changed.
There was a program on northwest UK tv last night, celebrating 50 years since the Beatles first gig at the Cavern. It was entitled...
' I Was There When The Beatles Played The Cavern ' oddly enough.
A documentary featuring old film clips and interviews with people who were relevant in the day, like Pete Best ( remember him? ) Gerry and the Pacemakers, The Searchers, The Merseybeats, a long list, including the girls ( women now ) who ran the Beatles original fan club. A lot of fascinating stuff.
For instance, did you know the 'new' Cavern Club is 8 feet lower than the original?

They were days that can never be forgotten, especially by those who were around at the time.

For me it was when Elvis came on the scene. I was 10 in `58 when my father bought me my first guitar and I started taking lessons...that was 52 years ago....

Did anybody here actually see the Beatles in person....I didn't.
I talked to a guy who was in a band in one of those "caravan of stars" type thing and they opened at a show where the Beatles played,he said the noise from the screaming girls was deafening, but somehow their harmonies were perfect...he said he didn't see how they did it.

I sometimes wear Suede Beatle Boots to school, provided that there's no precipitation that is.
No risk of damage to floors though, they've got rubber soles funny enough.

I didn't either. One big reason was, that we were very busy in the sixties, probably our busiest time ever. We tended to see bands that we were actually playing with and unfortunately the Beatles were never one of them.

I saw them twice, but couldn't hear them very well due to the girls screaming and
a lot of noises from police sirens. I did meet Ringo last Fall when he was touring his "All Starr Band" with Rick Derringer, Edgar Winter, etc. and he autographed my 'Liverpool 8' CD sleeve. He's still a jovial bloke who just enjoys life for what it is.

Yes, Beatlejuice did a an excellent show of Beatle tunes with Brad Delp formerly of the band "Boston". Unfortunately, Brad took his own life a couple of yeas ago. Wonderful man with a lot of heart.

I was lucky enough to see 3 out of the Fab Four on their own tours!

You wouldn't want to see my Man Cave...mostly a Beatles Museum!
