just got a call from a friend of mine..

this old school chum of mine is in a band. i went to see him a few years back, and he introduced me to the lead guitarist/keyboard player. when he found out i played too, he invited me to sit in for a while, letting me use his les paul :D he never knew me before that night, but he was kind enough to let me use his axe.

a few months back he was diagnosed with cancer, and passed away today. my sympathies to his family, friends, and bandmates....so long neil- we'll miss you  :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

on sunday they held a memorial service for neil.

what a wonderful day. i only knew him for a couple of years, but it felt like we have been friends forever.

during the tribute, i found that he was big into charities. he actually gave more money to different groups than he took for himself from his 14 years of being in a band. if you needed help with anything, he was always there. he was also an attorney who cared deeply about his clients, offering help any way he could. after the service, many had commented that they didn't know all the things that he did for others.

i guess the people who do these things for the right purpose don't brag about it. i walked away with a whole new respect for him.

again neil- "thank you for being a friend"

Sounds like he would've been a great friend to all of us, PB.

RIP, Neil.

Phreddybee you can take comfort in the fact that friends such as Neil are a gift and a blessing themselves. The world needs more selfless individuals so dedicated to the betterment of the lot of others such as he was.
