Begin w/Fogerty,
transition to L-Zep reunion,
maybe a single Alison Krauss/Jerry Douglas number,
balanced by Bela & Wooten, then
a touch of ZZ Top,
and closeout with EC, Knopfler, and Sonny Landreth on a nice long Jam.

Extra points if you put the Bayou Classic's dynamic duo -- the Grambling and Southern University marching bands marching/dancing 'round the stage.

But no plastic hair, and no "production numbers" -- OK?

Of all the bands that: 1) are still currently active, 2) popular enough for consideration, and, 3) haven't played the Super Bowl before, I believe the obvious choice is......

AC/DC!!!!!!!

Why does it have to be a music group why not Cirque de Soli or something like that. If it has to be music Clapton Beck thing would be great.

The Washington Redskins actually have a marching band. They're the only team in the NFL that does.

Its needs to be as American as football... like some good 'ole rock n' roll... Like when they had Tom Petty, Aerosmith, etc.

I got to second Jimmy Buffet too, his music is pretty iconic American... 8) Joe bonamassa is great too, but I feel like the rest of my generation has no idea who he is... I'm lost in a sea of kids who listen to Lady Gaga, Kesha, Bieber, Lil Wayne, Black Eye Peas, Starship Cobra, etc.

Makes me want to puke.. :?
