You don`t need stickers to make it yours, especially on a $700 guitar. Playing it makes it yours, it`ll wear in certain places from the way you use it.

If she's buying you the guitar then you could atleast have the decency to look after it in a way she see's fit.
I got nothing at all against stickers on guitars. But I can understand that your mom doesn't want you to deface something of value.
See her side a bit eh? Mom's have a hard time of things a lot of the time.

A good musician should break his mother's heart.

+1, the guitar was a gift, it's now his. I dont have stickers on my guitars nor would I recommend them, his mother stated her point and he heard her but it's ultimately his choice, I say have at it...

ok lets fastforward a bit here for a moment. mom buys you the guitar, and you do not respect her wishes, the very next time you go to ask her to spend
HER HARD EARNED MONEY on something else you have to have, what do you think she will remember? what do you think she will say then?
this is a gift from your mom, respect it as so and do as she wishes of you, in all things.
after you have had it 6 months to a yr, set her down and ask her about it again.

Here's the deal. I also have a son that plays guitar. I bought him his first guitar and he still has it 15 years later. No stickers. He's 25 now. if I bought him a guitar and he didn't respect my wishes or the equipment I supplied him with, that would be the last piece of gear I'd buy for him. Even though it was LOL.

If you pay for it it's truly yours. Take a chain saw to it. If it's a gift, respect the giver.

I hate stickers on guitars. If you like em, more power to ya I suppose. If somebody put a sticker on my guitar, I'd put a fist on their face. >_>

Why use stickers to make your guitar "yours'' Take them of and it is your guitar no more.
If I were you, I would take a sharp knife and cut your name in it, that will make it yours for ever.
