Wedged somewhere in all that garbage (to include most of the commercials) was a football game. Congrats to the Packer fans!

The supposedly soulful vocal acrobatics (a la Ms. Aguliera's national anthem debacle) that have plagued much of the R&B/pop tunes since the late 1980s has got to stop sometime...it can't be done soon enough for me.

Don't go around the note four times before you hit it, Christina. It doesn't sound soulful, it sounds like you have pitch problems.

The BEPs are doing what every catchy pop band has done for the last fifty years--writing simplistic earworms that don't leave your head after you've been subjected to them at sporting events, commercials and the like. I personally think will.i.am is a talented producer and actor, although I'm not enamored by his singing (is that still considered singing with the electronic vocoder thing?).

There is evidence out there that Fergie can sing, but I wonder if she couldn't hear herself. With the $1.2 billion for that overblown party tent (that my taxes went towards, since I live in the area) there shouldn't be ANY technical problems--mics cutting out, stages not lighting up, etc.

I still haven't figured out what the other two guys are doing onstage, except posing with their fist clenched and upraised periodically.

Bring back ZZ Top. They're the ones who should have played the first Superbowl hosted in Texas, anyway.

what's there to talk about? It sucked. Even friends of mine who like the BEPs said they sucked. Like i said, the only reason the NFL got those idiots is because they spent all their money on the Who. So the cheapest group they could afford was group who has no instruments, no rhythm, and no talent. ZZ Top was too expensive for em

The yahoos who planned that musical program aren't sophisticated enough for ZZTOP 8)
