yeah i think so too and i believe she knows it too. thats probably why shes trying to change things up a bit. she needs to get rid of that "dipshiot i am" guy and do her own thing. look her and slash up on youtube, its not bad honestly.

Given the artist, and her ilk, your question is asked and answered. Give us a break!! It's time to return The National Anthem to a position of respect when being sung. I'm tired of these 'vintage/ modern' interpretations. If I want an American Idol stylized performance, I know where to turn. Some things ought to be left well alone. 'The Star-Spangled Banner" is one of them.

Doc

I agree 100% Doc,and I even think I heard her say "thank you" at the end of her pathetic performance.

.....strictly impartial, and I will not argue your personal preferences but, IMHO, Pogo Possum's famous observation: "We have seen the enemy and it is us." applies here and, in a host of similar situations elsewhere, if you get my drift.

The black eyed peas ? really ? The only good half time show are when they bring back the classic rock acts like The Who, Springsteen ,Rolling Stones, i am not against the new artist but its just to much show and not enough of what makes the music great ! imo

I didn't want to go there but since you opened the door you draw attention to the fact that that precise interpretation seems to be becoming the rule rather than the exception these days. :?

I purposely 'missed' the half-time show, but I thought that the pre-game
entertainment (that Aussie cowboy, Mr Urban) was flippin' great!

doc i have a feeling if you and i open up a discussion on here about how we really feel,
you and i would both be band so quick it would shut the site down for 24 hrs while everybody else tries to figure out what exactly happened.
yes it is becoming the rule and i dont honestly care for it either.
there are but a few things that i will take to my grave that i stand on, this being one of them. doc i will always be the one who says what everybody else is thinking my friend.
im am controversial, and yes i will rock the boat when needed, it makes things far more interesting. call it stress relief lol.

Really though - they couldn't get anyone better to perform than the Black Eyed Peas? Within recent years we've been seen performances by Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, etc.

So where did this garbage come from?

Anyway, my TV was muted for the entire half time, save for a few curious moments when Slash came on - but even that was completely butchered. Way to go "Fergie".

Overall a major disappointment. The game was alright, though.
