is there a way to make my stratocaster bridge so that it's not on a pivot? I don't use my tremolo arm at all, and the only time my bridge is flat is when the strings are off, how do i keep it that way?

use 5 springs on the trem claw and block and screw the screws in more on the bottom if needed.

The back of your guitar probably looks like this, with 3 springs

You need to add a couple of more to make 5, like this

Just keep the springs you have and make a wedge block. Heres pictures from the net very self explanatory.

Those two long screws in the trem cavity, that are connected to the bent piece of metal. Tighten those. If you screw them in enough it will pull your bridge down. If you put a piece of wood in there you won't be able to use your trem at all.
