Hi Gilga Frank and arth1,Craig does make a wide range pickup,in fact the Sweet V-59s I bought are wide ranging pickups, but all you have to do Is tell Craig exactly what type of tone and responsiveness you want from a pup and he will certainly wind it to your specs.

No, no - a Wide Range Humbucker is different from a humbucker with a wide range. A WRH has a bigger casing, and mounts with two screw holes on each side unlike standard humbuckers.
This guy does not appear to make WRHs.

(The original WRHs also have threaded magnets - not steel screws or poles on top of a bar magnet as normal pickups and WRH reissues. They also have the polarity reversed compared to modern humbuckers. Winding is the least of the differences.)

I had Greasy Groove make me a couple of neck plates with my band's logo and the nickname of the guitar laser etched on them...great, fast, reasonably priced and they even sent a personal handwritten note complimenting our logo...I have nothing but good things things to say about them.

To the person who had an issue: I'm sorry you had that bad experience...you might contact them and politely let them know what happened. I bet they would do their best to "make it right."

Isn't it strange that Fender never properly reissued these legendary pickups? The amount of interest in them is astounding, I've seen tales of people spending years searching just to source 20ft of Cunife rod from a defunct engineering company to make pole pieces for a WRHB project.

Apparently the cost of manufacturing even a small run of magentised Cunife rod is prohibitive for most manufacturers but come on, this is Fender, some people would sell their firstborn into slavery to get a new F-branded Wide Range Humbucker. Surely there's a gap in the market for a Custom Shop limited run of genuine WRHB pickups?

I'm more surprised that there isn't anything new coming out in pickups. We've used neodymium and other rare earth magnets since the 80s now, but not in guitar pickups. Alnico is as modern as it gets there.
Optical pickups? They're still infrared and dead in the water with the 30 year old tech they use.

Where are the innovations?
