Do you use anything on your Rosewood Fretboards?

I use a product by Gerlitz, called Guitar Honey. I use it every string change.

Fender's Fretboard conditioner, by Meguiar's. My girlfriend got me the whole kit last year. It uses Lemon Oil among other things I believe, which is what I used back when I started playing.

Used to use Dunlop lemon oil. However, after using it for a while I noticed my fretboard looks dryer than it did before, when I used nothing. Back to the drawing board.

From other hobbies and pastimes, I know it's important to occasionally treat unprotected wood, such as the rosewood on a guitar neck. Unprotected, it may dry over the years to the point of spliting. Over my experiences, I've variously used walnut oil, boiled linseed oil, lemon oil, and so on on unprotected wood surfaces.

On my Fender Stratocaster rosewood necks, I use the Fender brand fretboard conditioner. I got some in a kit of Fender cleaners and polishers, as formulated by Meguiar's. The bottle cautions it contains petroleum distallates, so keep it away from your salad dressing.

Since my first reply to this thread, I discovered a .pdf page offered at the D'Addario Web site on Fretboard Care.

The article also had a clever idea on making a cutout overylay template in the elongated shape of a fret to use when polishing frets so you don't get any mess on the fretboard wood.

I use coconut oil, it darkens, and moistens the rosewood, without any lemon.
(which is pretty acid-y, and is a natural bleacher)
And it smells good.
BTW, I'm new here, hi...
