I change mine about once a month.
or sooner if we are gigging a lot.
I play alot and use very heavy picks and big bends.

The only problem is i hate new strings.
They ring to much. they really sound good about the second day.
by day 10 or 12 they are starting to go flat.

it's a viscous circle

I play my guitar everyday but not the same one, this means it is hard to judge how long they've been played for. so as soon as i start to feel dirtt and am loosing sustain i change.

ernie balls super slinky are my personal choice, they're awesome.

i have those graphite stringsaver saddles on my strat, so my strings never break, I end up changing the strings about once a month because they get rusty and dirty

I have bad habits when it comes to maintanance.

I probably only change my strings when one breaks or when they just get so gritty that I can't stand it. I'm not good at changing strings, never have been. I try to avoid it.

I always make sure I have a relatively fresh pair of strings for gigs though. But I don't gig regularly.

On the main guitar, about once a month, or right before I play in public. I don't want to break a string while playing in front of people.

On the average, about once / month. Depends on how much playing time is on them.

every month... keeps your guitars sounding great and the strings lose their tension when they are on to long so by changing them very often the neck will stay straighter longer without any tune-ups

On the guitar I use the most - about once every 5 to 6 weeks

On all the rest - once every three months

Whenever they start to feel like crap, which can be anywhere from a couple months to a year since I have quite a few guitars...

Not often enough! I tend to like to keep things original!

I change when they lose their "ring" and bends don't have that "trill" sound anymore.

When they need it :?

Usually indicated by the guitar starting to sound dull, the loss of the ability to stay in tune, gunk on my hands after playing.

Those are some of the reasons.
