Well, all that for nothing. No snow at all last night or this morning. Instead, we got freezing rain and black ice while Dallas got all of our snow. :( (Although I'm sure they wish we had gotten it instead. They've had this kind of thing all week.) So this morning everyone walked out, saw that there was no snow, hopped in their cars and slid all the way to work. We should have known that if there was snow in the forecast it wouldn't actually happen. When it does it's usually a complete surprise and it usually only lasts a whooping two hours. Anything more is much too good to be true. Now we need to take out our pitchforks and go hunt down the weathermen who gave us this false hope! :P

Since when have Texans become sniveling babies?

"Oh, that icky snow, it will spot my $739 Stetson hat! Oh, poo, I will get my nice cowboy boots all wet and dirty in that ucky slush."

Chicago had "Thunder-lightning snow" Tuesday-Wednesday. Quite impressive. Lightning took out a bunch of electrical power when it was way the eff below freezing. And helped deliver the 20-27 inches of new snow and then the temps dropped below 0 F for most of two days. We dealt with it.

When Chicagoans became SO much tougher than Texans was a mighty SAD day in the history of this country.

It's called the City of Broad Shoulders for a reason.

But remember, during the summer we deal with 100+ tempuratures on a regular basis. If it hits 95 in Chicago it's national news. Not to mention hurricanes... ;)

Anyway, they're reporting over 800 car accidents today alone because no one has a clue about how to drive on ice.

Not really, we get temps in the 90s all the time here.

No wait, you're right. Maybe it was Boston or New York last year that claimed a week of the upper 90s was a heat wave. :P

In any case, different places are more accustomed to different weather. Keep in mind most of us don't have real heaters or adequate insulation just like some places farther north don't have air conditioning. I had a friend who moved from here to Alaska in the winter, lived there for a few years and then moved back last August. Their summer highs were in the 50s and 60s. Wild.

One word.... California.

I've seen it all, except hurricanes.... and I don't know if I should count the little pansy a** tornadoes that occur rarely and are lucky if they get anywhere near F1

We got about 7" maby 8" of snow here just N. of Dallas. Glad to have it. Coverd that solid sheet of ice we've had the last couple of days. Kids & dogs Love the Snow. I like hearing them Laugh.

Maryland you get to see it all including occasional Tornados, 100 degree plus temps, unreal humidity, Hurricanes, Tropical storms, temps in the teens often, and snow falls like last year of 4ft. plus over days.

Ok, that beats Cali's schizo weather... and we have dry heat and we thank God everyday during the summer He hasn't cursed us with high humidity as well. At least I do anyways lol

'Was in Maryland for a week for work couple summers ago; really looking forward to the cooling effects of the Bay, because Chicago was 90s and stupid drippy panting humidity.

And so sadly, Baltimore-Annapolis was exactly the same.

Now it's cold, snowing another 3+ inches on top of the 2 feet we got Turesday-Wednesday. And people say, "Yeah, it's Chicago." Unless more than 9 or so inches falls, people here don't even take much notice. Up to that, it's "flurries."

[quote="texasguitarslinger"]...I figured it was probably a better title than "Snowbound Houston". :lol:quote]

I've used that a couple of times writing out of the NY-metro area these past few weeks.
