...I figured it was probably a better title than "Snowbound Houston".

Well, we're bracing for our once or twice in a decade inch of snow down here. They're actually saying it's going to stick for a few hours! As a result the city is thrown into disarray. Early dismissal today, followed by every school in the area closed tomorrow. The city has decided that all city workers have to take a day off work and there are no flights in or out of the city's airports. The local media has spent all day interrupting regular programming to bring us the latest on the snow which isn't here yet. They've also spent a considerable amount of time educating us on how to treat frost bite and how to walk on ice. And the mayor has held a press conference to warn us to stay warm. One local news station stated, "There is an immanent danger to life and property with this storm" in reference to our 1-2 inches of snowfall expected.

So in light of all that, when a friend showed me this youtube video I thought it was hilarious. Enjoy! :D

Ah, Houston seems even more paranoid than the UK, then. A thing I didn't think possible!
:)

BTW, how's the cold, TGS?

Cheers,

Well I live in London so I naturally think that one inch of snow is pretty much a national crisis. Send in the Marines...!

Cheers - C

Our TV stations were giving "threats" of thunder snow here too and ended up being around 10-15 cm which is nothing for us. We got all cleared up in a half of day.

That thunder snow is wild , we had that last week when we got 8 inches in six hours. Some of them bangers were super loud. Dogs did not like them!

A few years ago Toronto had about 6" of snow and they declared a state of emergency and called in the armed forces to clean up the "mess" to the amusement of the rest of Canada.A 6" snowfall here just calls for wearing a longer pair of swim trunks.

although it was odd that our then mayor called in the army lets not spread lies
it was a lot more than 6" of snow

When that much snow hits Canada's largest city, it is crippling...... but it was embarrassing to call in the army
