Hi
I need to replace my generic stock tubes in my Modded Epiphone Valve Jr.

I have 3 guitars, 60's Goldtop Les Paul, 52 Blonde Tele, American Fender Strat sunburst... :)

I have a extension cab with one Celestion G12 Heritage series 16ohm the one made in Britain not China, the Hendrix one used in 1967, and I had another speaker built for me by extraordinaire Charlie Powers 8" 16 ohm, it has nuances of a Jensen and lower mid creamy sounds of Celestion...

Im recording in classic rock vibe on guitars...

I need 3 new tubes.
I currently have JJ 6V6 tube... Tong Sol 12AX7A 7025... Tesla-JJ EL84 6BQ5...

I was thinking without hopefully spending a small fortune more in the price range of 50.00 to 70.00 price range...NOS tubes...

What tubes do you like and why?

Mullard ECC83's, BVA labeled if you can find them. Far superior durability to anything else. Brimar ECC83's if not.

Aside from resilience I find very very little difference between modern valve manufacturers in modern amps. A greatly hyped market.

actually you are right, i have 3 Tung Sol 12AX7's, 1 NOS JAN Phillips 12AT7 and matched set of 2 Tung Sol 5881's for my 2 6L6GC's. i had heard god things about the Tung Sol's and have to say I am impressed. It was a noticeable difference from the tubes that were in the amp when I got them.

70s Saratov EL84s, Telefunken, Mullard or Brimar 12AX7s preferably, if not, then black plate Sylvania or Raytheons. A Cheaper 12AX7 alternative are Ei tubes from Yugoslavia.

Shure,

I like 12Ax7 and El84 JJs for their clean balance, and value in Class A amps such as the EVJ and Crate V8. I like the EH and Tung Sol 12AX7 for overdrive. However, the Sol seems to be muddy at low to moderate volume, but works well when cranked up. The JJs work well both clean and overdrivin.
