With your price range, get a Highway 1 or if you can find a used american standard.

The strat looks nice but im kind of interested in the Tele. I've tried it before and i really liked it, how much do you think i can get a standard one for.

My man go for a tele!! Really get what feels right to you. I saw a nice american standart tele on craigs list in my area for 525 today. You can buy a nice guitar in the price range you are looking for sure. Be choosey, and i reccomend going and looking dont buy one you havent played. that is just my opnion.
