...is big. very big. i hope everyone up north queensland is ok, aparentley the cyclone is worse than cyclone tracy. queensland sure has been coping it, first flods in rockhampton, then floods in brisbane district, now a cyclone all in the one summer. its bigger than katrina i believe. i've been watching the news all morning, lucky i went up to cairns and cape tribulation while i could, cause judging from the size and the fact that its a category 5 the towns it hits are gonna really change. hope everyone up there is ok

Praying that it's not as bad as Katrina in terms of loss of life and property. We still have people suffering physically, emotionally, etc. five years later. Major Mojo from Louisiana to your people and homeland Riley!!

Home today, sitting out the ice storm, part of the mess that has covered a 2000 mile swath across the states. When I heard the new bit about the situation developing down there, along with the photos of the sandbags being filled, on top of the recent rain and floods, I though immediately of ya'll on the Forums and could only remark "OUCH"!! :?
God Speed and do your utmost best to stay safe. Keep us informed.

My thoughts and prayers are with all the folks in Northern Australia, I was watching on the BBC World News and they're having to turn away people who came late to emergency shelters. On top of all that it's too dangerous for rescue crews to go out and help people who are stranded.I'm glad that none of our forum members from down under have any of these hardships and my relatives in Tasmania are unaffected also.It seems that the past few years the weather patterns worldwide have been in turmoil,it makes one wonder if the world is headed for another apocalyptic weather event like the last Ice Age which was only 10,000 years ago which is just a fleeting moment in earth's history.
