I've got to agree. Muse is good. The Foo's rock. Mayer is bringing Blues to the main stream. I can't say enough about Jon from the RHCP.

Just block out all the bad stuff. There is some good music being made today.

There's plenty of excellent music being produced today, just have to look. Among my favs atm include the Mars Volta, the Decemberists, Arcade Fire, Hot Chip and Gruff Rhys.

Also techno is AWESOME. If you're drunk in a club at least. :p

It's just you... ...seriously, there is some good stuff out there, but it's not as easy to find as it used to be. Check out some of the interwebs radio stations if you don't have satellite radio.

Check out the Internet Archive - the Live Music Archive section.

Really good selection of live shows of many different bands.

Music tends to go through phases.

I'm just glad that we're getting past the every new band sounds like Creed phase and the every band needs one dude with a bald or shaved head phase.

I just can't wait till we get past the look metal or punk but then play really pop music phase.

Or the one guy sings the vocal while another guy screams the same line just after the sung line phase.

Or the I am supposed to be sad looking but sound happy phase, or the look happy but sound sad phase...

Rock is dead. Let it die in peace, stop tryin to flog the dead horse. Good grief, it's like people trying to revive the Charleston or jitterbug or Big Band Swing music. Give it a rest, make way for the next thing. All rock today is just tawdry tribute/revival retro garbage. Recycling old sounds and chord progressions spinning around over and over like a front-loader washing machine.

If you keep worshipping the past, you're gonna miss the present. There has to be something better than this tired, wheezing old Alt. Rock, $@!&# music and Gangsta Rap w/Fergie doing a pole dance in the middle of it.

Leo Fender was not just about guitar innovation, he kept his products up with the latest music breakthroughs. Right now, Leo's looking down here and yelling, "Get on with it you slacker morons! I didn't build Strats and Teles to play nuthin but redneck rockabilly for 50 straight years!"

yeah, actually i have the most hope in rock in today's culture i think.... there are still a lot of quality bands coming out and giving a lot of great music..... now rap on the other hand with such masterpieces as "soulja boy" is going somewhere.....

it really depends on what stations youre listening to on the radio... i personally can't stand too many stations where i live because they play too much commercialized rap which really only makes them any money, theres no real meaning to the song, at least i'm not getting one, other than to "supreman a ho" :?:

Rock is like an old recipe handed down from your Grandma.
The basics ingredient is still there, but other stuff gets thrown in every time someone cooks up another pot. (can you taste it?)
