what kind of hand exercises do you do to warm up before playing?
what do you do to warm up after youve strapped up and the standby is off?

Hot Rod Lincoln is an old boogie song...I use a hand, finger stretching excercise where you hold your left hand up straight and bend your fingers down towards your palm one at a time and then two at a time randomly, the hardest two for me is the middle finger and pinkie at the same time, remember to keep your hand and wrist straight...Jack Pearson showed that to a group I was in....you don't have to strain, but it works.
Then when I'm plugged in,I play from the 6th string up to the 1st,fretting 1 note with each finger of my left hand and using an up down picking motion, one note down next note up....hope that makes sense,I was showed that excercise 45 years ago.

that's funny, Hot Rod Lincoln is usually the first thing I play once the standby is off. Then it's Run Like Hell.

wasn't hot rod lincoln first redorded by Arkie Shibley? Usually you hear the Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen version, which is pretty smokin' if you ever hear the live recording from the early 70's.
