Can you please show us a link for that, all I could find it this one here...

I found this on Wikapeidia.....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_music_artists

Okay, this says they are 150+, But Michel Jackson is at 750+ and Elvis is 1 billion+.

Even Madonna is at 300+.....and that is really sad.

The thing that gets me on this list is, "the Beach Boys" are not even listed.

That has to be an error.

Aerosmith is the best-selling American rock band of all time, having sold more than 150 million albums worldwide,[14] including 66.5 million albums in the United States alone.[15] They also hold the record for the most gold and multi-platinum albums by an American group. The band has scored 21 Top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, nine #1 Mainstream Rock hits, four Grammy Awards, and ten MTV Video Music Awards. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001, and were included among both Rolling Stone's and VH1's lists of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time".

So what?
If I like a song, I like it--I don't care how much it sells.
If I don't like a song, I don't like it--I don't care how much it sells.

Lightning Strikes is one of Aerosmith's better songs--no matter how little that album sold.
Don't Want to miss a thing (or whatever it's called) is one of their worst-no matter how much it sold.

Talking to me about album sales will not impress, but a good song will.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXhv-VWyUKU&feature=related

But hey--if you don't like the song--you don't--I just hope you based your opinion on the music--not on the number of albums that people bought.

I highly doubt Joe Perry will not be on this album and would expect him in the studio by the time Tyler finishes with Idol. Those two guys are joined at the hip and when the fight it is the same as siblings or a wife and husband, and you cant take it too seriously. Without a doubt one of my all time favorite bands, and it has been proven neither can cut it without the other. I always considered them the US version of the Stones. This may shock some but technically Whitford is the better technical player than Perry. Though Perry is a riff machine it is odd after all these decades he does not really have to many really memorable solos, and it is still up in the air what is actually him on the first album.

I would add the dvd " You Gotta move " is a good reference as to who plays what between Perry and Whitford.

Isn't Joe just out touring to promote his latest solo project?

I like Joe as much as anyone does; the guy has got a great style, but IMHO the real guitar hero of Aerosmith is the ever-underrated Brad Whitford. I'm hoping that, if anything, Joe's not being there in the formative stages of putting the album together will mean more Brad songwriting credits and more Brad guitar. The guy really gets pushed to the side, and quite unfairly.

Brad jamming with Gov't Mule back in December. Enjoy:
