Aerosmith without Joe Perry is like Zeppelin without Page. The album won't sound right

Well it's worth a shot. I'm desperate for anything good, even if it means a classic band making a new record. I need a sign of hope!!

i havent heard it yet but i bet everything i'll agree with you.
best they will do with a new guy is covers of the old tunes.
steve was very much a part of smith as is perry and his guitar work, or stew
and his bass work. this group wasnt/isnt only talent but very much a personality of what each member brought to the table. one of my all time fav bands.
when you take away from this "personality" your just not gonna have the same thing period. i wish the guys all the best just the same, and steve and idol or talent whichever it is. he will be back at some point im sure and a good tour will follow.
i spent 2 weeks with them back at the very start of the pump tour. a week before the tour while the stage was being built and a week after the start.
a great bunch of guys that care about the music and how it gets delivered.
one of the best bands ever in my opinion. i wish them all the best.

maybe i'm just an optimist, but the way the article sounded to me was hopeful that perry would be there at some point. things like "not completed yet" kinda leave the door open... i dunno.
i've had the pleasure of meeting steven a few times. he lives in my town so i run into him occasionally. whenever he talks about the band, it's always "about the band". aerosmith is a musical "unit"... heck they've been together longer than dirt.
i get the feeling that whenever joe's done with his previous engagement he'll be at the studio with the brethren.

Joe is just takin' his time, whatever the band writes he just makes better, as do they all respectively. 8)

A great Blues band must have a great blues guitarist. I hope they can find one. I wish the best for all of them.

Seems to me a bit premature for the Funeral Dirge.

This is not the first time Perry is Awol, I did not read anything in the article saying the band has split. I'm not surprised Perry has other commitments, I'm sure he gets more than enough requests to be on someone's recordings. Not to mention the fact that Perry and Tyler often have disputes, which is what makes a great collaboration, when two opposites push and pull, the end result has usually been something we can smile about as the audience.
We'll just have to wait and see.

Though the last time he was away, " Let the Music Do the Talking "

perry has been starting a hot sauce business, and from what ive heard a product called rock&cheese or something along those line is coming out in his name as well.

Rock in a Hard Place is an under-rated album--and no Joe in sight-

aerosmith is the best selling american band of all time, (little known fact)
all the while a record setter for the most gold and multi platinum albums
by an american band. over 150 million records worldwide.

Not sure what youmean?

All I meant was they put out a very good album without Perry or Whitford.
I don't care how much it sold---some lousy albums sell a lot, some great albums don't.

I base what I like, on what I like.
For me the worst point in Aerosmith history is "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" or whatever that awful piece of fluff is called. I don't care how much it sold.

But maybe you meant something else.
