Can't believe that it was 42 years ago that The Beatles made their last public performance as a group.Boy do I feel old now as it doesn't seem like that long ago but that's over 2 generations. The Rooftop Concert will always be recognized as one of the best and most historic public performances of all time-I still get goosebumps when I watch it.It's so poignant to watch since John and George are no longer with us in a physical sense-but they'll always be in many hearts.

I know I am old. I took a very young lady to see the flick in Hollywood. We took the bus from the SFV as neither of us had a car. Now she is a grandmother! I at least cannot claim grandfatherhood (yet)!

Guitslinger I know you are a fanatic like myself when it comes to the Beatles. Though I was very young when they were together they have really been the soundtrack to my life. I do not even bother with the idiots that post ridicules comments on forums anymore. I guess you had to live through it and have been there to know what it was all about. Still amazing how something from the archives can still be released and move 3 or 4 platinum units in a day when a #1 album can move 30K. Another amazing thing is that both my sons 18 and 13 will come over with their friends and start playing Beatles CDs.

Both my daughters (30 and 26)grew up listening to my huge collection of British Invasion music but the younger of the 2 astounds me with the lyrics of songs she remembers. She was back for a visit a few months ago and she had remembered the lyrics of just about every song that I played on the stereo, and I thought that a lot of it went in one ear and came out the other-that's quite obviously not the case.

My wife and her cousin cut out of school to see the Beatles at Shea Stadium. She said all you could hear was non-stop screaming which was much louder than the Beatles were. She went on to say that even though you couldn't hear them, just seeing them in person was well worth it.
