Yes they are stacked up like that but did they get stacked up like that for the interview just to display them, I noticed none of them were heavily caked with dust which to me suggest they are usually in their cases and were all recently brought out.

As far as the interviewer, he obviously did not do much homework and asked inane questions that have been asked and answered countless times.
I can understand annoyance when it is another journalist just asking dumb questions.
I would much prefer questions referring to his compositions and why did you write this in this key, or in this passage, there is a hint of dissonance, where were you going with that ?

Seriously Malmsteen has always appeared to me to be a guitarist extremely focused on the music itself as the end product and everything else is just a vehicle to arrive at his vision.
You may or may not like him but you cannot dismiss his influence and contribution in the late 80's of forcing guitarists to get out of the 12 bar blues format and experiment with Baroque approaches and thus come up with a fresh framework.
As far as abuse, let's see Townshend, Hendrix, Blackmore, I am not aware of Malmsteen smashing guitars on stage every show or lighting them on fire.
