Browsing an CL type site and found a "pedals and cables" listing for $50

From the pics I could see some type of delay pedal, a DOD chorus and a DS-1

I emailed the guy and he said I could have the three for $40

I went there and he must have won a "storage wars" type auction because he had a full moving truck with various stuff (tv old couches and chairs)

He showed me the bin with the pedals some cables, a amp foot switch and I saw a couple of pickups at the bottom so I offered him $50 and he said cool.

Here''s my list:
Tokai TDL-1 delay pedal
DOD Sterio Chorus FX65
BOSS DS-1 ( which I just found out was MIJ in 1986!!)
a cheap korg tuner
2 Godin Humbuckers
6 cables of various lengths
and a Rivera FS-6 footswitch

I already own a Taiwan made ds-1 that I am in the process of modding, but am super hyped I picked up a older Japan version

Don't know what I will do with the amp footswitch, but I think I got a good deal. Anyone have any thoughts/opinions of the Tokai and DOD pedals?

I think you're right in that you got a deal. All I get around here is people trying to sell new DS-1s for at least $30. Western PA Craigslist sucks, I've never seen a good deal and I've been looking for at least a year >_>

In all honestly, the cheapest I have seen a ds-1 here in the Toronto area is $25 (which I bought right away a few months ago)

I just lucked out this time finding a guy who must have bought a truck load of someones old stuff. I really think he won a storage auction.

can't wait to try them all out this weekend :D

trash the dod pedal or go to your local store and donate it to some kid ya dont know.
you will have done a killer deed, make the day of some young kid and became his new best friend, and ridded yourself of a bottom of the barrel pedal. no loss and lots of gain.
ya gotta give back in life. otherwise good score.

way cool.. that is a great idea..... pay it forward
the pedal aint too great and I have scored really well since I am going to sell the humbuckers for $45 and trade the footswitch for a boss ds2

I'm going to clean up the DOD and give it to a kid just learning

amazing that I bought this with the funds I got from selling my vibe 60s pickups. I wonder how much gear I can buy/trade for from the original $50 i got for the CV60s pickups? I would have been happy with just the original 80s MIJ ds-1

exactly, pay it forward.
if you dont need it and you came into it super cheap, sure pay it forward.
there is some kid that will crap his pants and will always remember the day some guy out of nowhere just walked up to him and handed a sweet (to him) pedal with a spankin new battery. that will always be in that young kids mind well into adulthood.
then one day, maybe he will do the very same to some one else in his life time.

visualize it man, just walking up to some kid who hardly knows how to play anything.
tell him ya want to show him something. plug in the pedal and show him how it works.
let him try it out. while hes doing so your telling his parents how ya got the pedal and what your plans are. then tell the kid he can have the pedal if he wants it.
that face will light up and you have done your deed. the feeling you will have at that moment will be priceless bro. ive been there and done it. its a great feeling.
just make sure a store clerk is in the know so nobody is accused ya know lol.
