Now that your appetites have been whetted, I already have two NY Metro area members who are interested in joining me to attend the viewing at Bonham's the weekend of March 5,6. If you are geographically located and of similar interest, contact me via the Forum PM and kindly include your personal email address. It will be much easier to coordinate numbers and most convenient day via that format, than through the Forum PM.

Bonhams' advises that catalog mailings are going out this week. Again inviting any NY metro area members, or others, who might be interested in getting together for the preview Saturday 3/5, or Sunday 3/6. It would be nice to go as a group on the day convenient to most. If interested, contact me via Forum PM and include another email address which I can use so I can coordinate this as a group mailing...BCC....of course.

To be honest, I contemplated grabbing a train and coming down to hook up with you folks for the viewing. But after viewing what's there on Bonham's site there doesn't seem like much of anything of real interest to warrant the trip. Aside from the Clapton owned/played value I think most of the best stuff was sold years ago.
Still, i'd like his 59 Bassman RI though, just passed one up on eBay recently for $700

If that '59 is the same one I saw, the seller wouldn't risk shipping and I didn't
want to drive for 3 days to find out it had issues. Let me know (PM) if you reconsider and are up for a train ride. ;)

I'm going to preview strictly for the entertainment value, I missed the opportunity with the last two. I consider it not unlike the EMP in Seattle, only this time its a one-time only. Bidders are up against the likes of our esteemed colleague in France. That's not my gig, but more power to him. If corporate assests are going to be pitted against private individuals, I hope there's not too much disappointment.

this is the one i was watching http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260727472342

The auction is still a couple of weeks away and it might be cool to just head down anyway, like Doc says, for the entertainment value, but I will have to see how things are going just before. I'll keep an eye on the thread and post/contact if i do.
