Thanks Fellas for all of your input over the last couple years. I have finally settled on my gear. I bought a used Mint condition 65' Fender Deluxe Reverb Reissue Limited and eventually saved up and bought a 1996 Fender Standard American Stratocaster.

These were my ultimate goal over the years, I just never had the opportunity. The sound is great. I love the 22 Watt FDRR Limited with the Alnico Speaker. its so smooth and creamy. Only problem is with my PlemSoul distortion/Overdrive Pedal it sounds to fizzy with that sparkle circuit on the amp. I may have to cut that cap or install a switch to turn off "Bright"

Anything without a Blues Jr. Horrible coffee table

The most important part of your setup is your guitar, not your amp. It's the part that you directly interact with at all times. Get the best guitar you can because the more comfortable you are with your guitar, the more you will play, the more you play the more you improve.

Yeah, but playing a great guitar through a lousy amp doesn't do it any justice. Even my Cigar Box guitar sounds great through a nice amp. I think they are equally important. An electric guitar without a decent reliable amp is just a piece of wood with strings.

I killed a V22 on the showroom floor at Guitar Center. I let the magic smoke out. It sounded pretty good for about 10 minutes. They were a little miffed, and I'm not sure why. I'm sure it's not the first amp they had to send back. Maybe if they didn't let 12 year olds wank on the gear all the time the stuff on the floor would hold up better. This is why I'm building my own amps now. It's not that hard to build something reliable and great sounding.

I know, I build my own too.
The V22 ain't bad, Bugera have improved their reliability a lot. I like the sound of their stuff but you'll always get the same deal with budget gear. Stress it too much and it gives up (grrr bloody Blackstar). Gladly the blues failure I had didn't suffer too much stress in the year I had it. 2 weeks as an amp, 50 weeks as a coffee table.

I would vote for a used Deluxe Reverb, with future considerations including a new set of pickups (and perhaps pots?) for the MIM strat, a speaker upgrade, and a nice set of tubes.

EDIT: Just saw the above post. Looks like you've got it all worked out, Kenneth. How about some pictures?

I would go for a Silverface DR, Twin SR. Bag the reissues. All the new stuff is geared toward profit not quality of reliability. What good is made in the USA when the parts come from Taiwan and China?
