53magnatone: why don't you just do it like they do in Skandinavia or Switzerland: compact the snow and drive on top of it?

Nice one on the S4... not the worst car on the planet ;-)

I'll check out your link as soon as I'm back on broadband... Currently stuck with this Finnish gadget. :D

Cheers

Hey Mark, glad you're getting back in action. I spent a while away from playing guitar after sufferring a stroke almost 14 yars ago. It took me years to get anywhere near as good as I was bfefore. Still got numbness in my left hand and I'm now blind so I try to keep things simple as I can. Getting a cover band together doing Stooges, MC5, Doors and Ramones type stuff. All the best with your recovery. Paul

I am working on a new original song today...has a nice funky/bluesy main riff.

Other than that, I have been working on Merle Haggard's song Mama Tried. Chicken Pickin' is not my strong suit, but I'm trying.

Trying to learn a bit of the lead to "Sultans of Swing" Mark Knoppler style. My fingers normally just don't work that way, but I'm getting better. :?

Working on some Lightnin Hopkins-style licks and runs. I say "style" because I'm mostly taking ideas from stuff on YouTube - things he plays, or things from lessons that people have posted - and figuring out my own take on them, as opposed to learning a complete song (or lick) note-for-note. So yeah, Lightnin Hopkins-type stuff.

Right now I'm trying to nail both easy, challenging and complicated basslines. For easy, I can play Blitzkrieg Bop (Ramones), Everlong (Foo Fighters), Ace of Spades (Motorhead) and Fly Away (Lenny Kravitz). For challenging: Livin' on a Prayer (Bon Jovi), Gasoline (Audioslave) and N.I.B. (Black Sabbath). For complicated: Hyena (Rancid) and Aqualung (Jethro Tull). Plus a few more by James Jamerson and one by Jaco Pastorius. And some funky and bluesy stuff too.

I'm not working on my own compositions yet because frankly I don't have the experience for it.
