I've been working on a few Stooges riffs for my covers band,` TV eye` and `I wanna be your dog`. Simple but great fun to play. I once promised myself a new guitar when I learned to play the intro to `Sweet child O`mine`, how I practised. Got my 52 Tele tho...
And yeah, Satisfaction intro was played on a fuzzed up guitar, but Keith did write it for a horn section in mind.

Oi! What about the fellow Brightonian and his empty inbox? I'll even paint a "pretty please" in there for you! :-D

great. Now I definately won't be able to sleep. I seem to have missed out here big time! Sugar!

;-)

D'oh! [Andy smacks forhead!]

How could I forget Big Al! Dude you have mail!

Well lessons learnt from last night here are:

1) Don't post anything after consuming vast quantities of alcohol or caffeine rich beverages.

2) Ceri has a big mouth! (just kidding!)

+ 1

I was in a band, briefly, that used to go from "I wanna be your dog" into "Machinehead" by Bush. T'was fun! :D

Cheers!

I really don't know why you're so down about what you create Andy.

Sounded fantastic to my ears. Perfectly understated, melodious and well constructed. Music that leads you somewhere rather than music that shouts at you. Plenty of breathing room for other instruments to operate. I wish I could do it.

You're far too hard on yourself.

On the way to work this morning "Outlaws" by Los Loney Boys popped up on the iPod and the intro is a great wah riff... going to learn that one now.

Ceri, you're mad Bro. 8) Texas can play it. I'm a bass guitar player (excuses  ) and so I'll borrow a Bros guitar and super slow it. Wearing Fender Forum Smarty-Pants with pride? Aromatic Smarti-Farti-Pants with GAS perchance? 8)

Hi SBLS: yes, well that's why TGS has the glittering musical career ahead of her and I have a very small and not shiny musical career behind me!

I can play all the notes, often even in the right place. I just can't play it at that speed. Or anything close! :?

Cheers - C

Lessons learnt by Ceri last night.

1. Keep my big mouth shut, especially after intake of mojitos.

2. Andy didn't mail me his tracks and if he had done they probably wouldn't be any good.

That better, Andy? That keep the demanding fans off your back? :D

Now. Let's get those numbers loaded onto the iPod...

Cheers - C

Ceri may in this case have had a big mouth, and we thank him for it! Besides, only a Master Secret Agent like Ceri could have coaxed a Master of Musical Secrecy into sharing his work with us! So I bow to Ceri. Thanks mate. ;-)

Great tracks, Andy! I must say, I am excited - but not surprised! I knew there was this fine player where there is such a fine person! As Niki and Ceri say, you should let out the fruits of your musical craftsmanship more often, mate. I'd love to hear more!

Now, as mentioned on a quite a turbulent thread recently, I like a guitarist who can pull it off to play without a vocalist! Great stuff, Andy. Seriously.

Uh-hu? I like track 3 - and yet it's track 1 I've been jamming along to most. I love that guitar tone! I've heard these tracks with my own goofy playing over the top so much in the last few hours I now need to go for a walk with them on the iPod, just so's I can remind myself what Andy's actually playing on them!

Cheers - C

BTW: after all the messing around it belatedly occurs to me I do actually have a proper answer to the original question on this thread.

My accountant is learning the guitar and we need reasonably simple things to jam together - to keep his playing fun, after all the learning stuff his teacher is laying on him. A couple of days ago it popped into my head that we could do Railroad Song from Lynyrd Skynyrd's often overlooked Nuthin' Fancy album. So I've been quickly getting that one down. Easy enough that even I can play it! I thought we could take it in turns to do the main riff while the other one vamps the harmonica part on their guitar, and then covers the very simple but nice little solos.

Come to think of it, we could probably manage On The Hunt from the same album too. Lynyrd Skynyrd: we miss 'em!

Cheers - C

PS: if we must have accountants the guitar playing sort (with EJ Strats) are the best, right? :D
