I am your new god little boys.......... Malmsteen actually taught God how to play guitar. This assclown is totally clueless. This neo classical garbage has been over for a pretty long time. The Great Kat is another one. At least she's half decent looking.

ah the ever popular modern day scenario: "you disagree with MY opinion so you are a 'hater'". When the flip side of could easily be: YOU actually like listening to Yngwie, YOU must have S**T for taste in music.

Look man, not everyone is going to agree with your opinion or point of view. This happens daily on here. You have the option to just ignore the things people post that you dislike, disagree with or that hurt your feelings and keep on moving OR you can get emotional and start accusing those who don't have the same opinion as you of being "catty insecure people"...at which point you actually look like the "catty insecure" person because you got so upset that someone else had a differing opinion from your own. Either way, people are still going to continue to posting things that you disagree with and that isn't going to change. So watch Yngwie and enjoy him, regardless of what others post.

Wow that's funny. Who could be more catty or insecure than Malmsteen? Almost every interview he does he cuts just about every genre of music down but his own from Blues to grunge. Just don't like him. For the record I don't like John Mayer, KWS, Jonny Lange, HRD and VM series amps either. Doesn't make me a bad guy. I find everything about Malmsteen funny. He dresses, speaks and acts like a 19 year old. Sorry, I like nothing about playing a million notes a second for the sake of playing fast appealing. He has no soul to his music to his music, and his lyrics to his songs are laughable. There are many musicians who can play a fast passage with feeling and emotion, he's just not one of them.

I knew you were a huge fan just from your screen name. So cut everyone a break with the catty and insecure comments. Just because I'd rather listen to Django Reinhardt or Son House or Les Paul and have an opinion, doesn't make me catty. I'd just rather listen to great guitarists and guitar tone than asstone.

Just one more thing, Malmsteen doesn't jam with anyone, he is always "The Head Hot Dog" you won't hear anything but him and his million Marshall's.
" I taught God how to play guitar" LOL

I hate listening to Malmsteen because his music makes me feel nothing in the way of any sort of emotion.

Yngwie bashers, they always make me laugh. You can say what you want about Yngwie but none of you will ever be half the players that he is. I am sure that this post will bring the heat down on me but that is cool, I really don't care.

Yes, you're right--I freely admit that I can't do what Yngwie does. I don't have the technical chops to do so.

But Yngwie can't do what I can do, either. He can't play with taste, vibe, and soul.

I don't like his arrogance to his own fans (and the fans of other artists), his disrespect to other players, the disrespect with which he treats his instruments, the braggadocio regarding his possessions (cars, guitars, amps) and his disrespect to music in general...

You may not like the artists/bands I like. That's okay...different strokes for different folks. But I can at least intelligently explain why he doesn't move me, instead of insulting everyone else's playing ability ("...none of you will ever be half the players that he is...").

I also won't point out the grammatical errors in that statement.

Read my entire post...BIG caveat at the end.

I was an impressionable high-school kid when I first heard Malmsteen....it was on one of those disposable pull-out records that I stole from my school library's copy of Guitar Player. I have to admit that it absolutely blew me away and and informed a lot of what I did as an aspiring player over the next couple years.

I grew up. Much to my dissapointment, Malmsteed did not. On top of the fact that he is the biggest $@!&#*% to ever pick-up a guitar, he's been playing the same scalar run and arpeggio (not to mention keeping the pathetic hair-metal asthetic going) for thirty years. Grow or go away, Yngwie.

He's become a sad example of perpetual adolescence.

But I do understand the attraction to a new generation of pimply teenage guitar wankers.

He'll appeal to today's guitar nerds the same way he appealed to me all those years ago. Every generation should be allowed to make the same mistakes we did...and they'll gorw out of it the wame way we did.

Okay I have a whole different view of Yngwie and it is rather strange. I have never been able to listen to more than two songs of his in a row without changing the CD. I also have never seen a more arrogant guy in an interview, but on the other hand he does have the balls to talk about other players who I personally think are not that good, but he will also bash those I think are great. But he is a very entertaining read as you will laugh.

Seven years ago I went to see G3 and Yngwie was on the bill with Satch and Vai, this is where it gets odd. When he came on and for his entire set my jaw was dropped to the floor as I was totally blown away and to this day have never seen anyone play live like that with such command over the instrument. He totally stole the show in my personal opinion and was whipping lines out at the speed of lightning while twirling the guitar around his neck without missing a note. I must also admit he played with feel and a killer vibrato. The onlything I did not enjoy his playing on was the encores which were Neil Youngs -Keep on Rocking in th4e Free World and Hendrix's Little Wing and Voodoo Child as he went over the top and the Harmonic Minor runs did not fit into the groove that well.

Conclusion= I still cannot listen to an Yngwie CD as he is probably up to his 28 concerto or 15th Magnum Opus lol, but I would pay to see the guy live anytime. I would just say if you can check him out live go for it as you will definitely enjoy the show.

Sounds like a Distaster Area allusion to me. He must be a hitchhiker's guide fan.

Actually, there is likely something contractual about this. I understand that he has a new signature Marshall amp coming out, and I wouldn't be surprised if Marshall wants him to have a big line-up of these behind him. Of course, "60" stacks is certainly overkill on top of overkill, but I'm still betting that Marshall has something to do with it.

And regardless of what he says about whom or how long his hair is today, Yngwie is and always will be a guitar legend who will be credited for introducing speed-metal to the world. Whether you like his style or not, I think most guitar players reacted much the same way I did when I first heard him years ago... I honestly didn't think it was possible to do what he was doing on a guitar. And I had that same kind of reaction when I heard Eddie Van Halen for the first time a few years before that. Both of these guys are fretboard pioneers.

So Yngwie thinks he's a big-shot and Eddie is a drunk. Not really all that much of a big deal IMO...
