About three weeks ago. If you haven't received it yet, might have been lost, I still have some extra pots and tuners ( for another project) if you still need them.

It could be someone just forgot to give it to me. I'll let you know if it turns up. If not, I'm good as far as tuners go but some pots would still be nice. I don't want to have you go through the trouble of mailing them again though, so I hope it's just a case of forgetfulness.

This Saturday I'm going to try to see what I can find out about the inside of that neck pocket. I'm also going to try the bridge on it to be sure it fits. The pickguard does, it just has wood filler in some of the holes which needs to go. I'm going to take the neck off of my Highway One and put it on the EJ body and my tech's going to take a look and see what, if anything needs to be done with that neck pocket. Hopefully everything will all right and Ceri won't have to do too much work on it, or it could turn out that it's fairly bad off and needs major work. We'll find out soon.

Hi TGS: don't worry about that pocket. Ceri will sort any problems with that. There's a plan - actually there's a plan A and a plan B and if needs be we'll think about a plan C.

But I don't think it'll run to that. :D

Cheers - C

I think I like plan B the best, no wait, C!

Well, I took the body into work and everything looks good. :) The bridge fits perfectly, the pickguard holes align (the only thing there is the wood filler blocking some of the holes). And the neck from my Highway One fit in pocket. Ceri, the only thing is that the guy finished the inside of the pocket which makes it a really, really tight squeeze. But other than that nothing major is wrong.

Nothing to worry about - but noted. I'll take it into account. Thank you.

Cheers - C

Time for another update!

I just received a package from rkreisher which takes care of several of the items on my parts list. I no longer need pots, tuners, a neck plate or straplocks. And my bridge assembly also came in the mail a few days ago. :)

I was going to try to send the body to Ceri yesterday, but my Dad spent all day trying to fix our A/C so we ran out of time. I'm going to try again in the coming week, and so hopefully I'll be able to get that done.

Believe or not I'm still trying to nail down exactly which neck I want to order. If I went totally custom through USACG, I know exactly what I'd get. But my guitar tech showed me an Allparts neck which is very, very close to the right specs. I searched their site but I couldn't find it, so I don't know if they stopped making them or not. It had a 12" radius, close the the right thickness (but in a regular C neck), and jumbo stainless steel frets. I could also get it for about half the price on the website from work, which the potential to actually go there and pick it myself. But it may be a moot question anyway if they don't have any more.

I did decide to go ahead with stainless steel frets. I think that in the long run I won't regret it. The main issue which put me in this position in the first place was the fact that my Squier's frets are going bad and I didn't want to have to spend an arm and a leg on refretting a $100 guitar. And even though I have a couple of other guitars to spread the playing around on now, none of them are in particularly good condition fret-wise either. I really want this new guitar to be reliable and durable enough to not have to constantly be in and out of the shop. Plus I've played several guitars with stainless frets now and both of them felt great. And if I end up hating the tone, I'll swap the pickups out for my Texas Specials. Plus I know enough guitar techs that finding one to work with stainless frets isn't really a problem. So I think the pros outweigh the cons this time around. :)

All right, here's a picture of everything I've got so far. :D

Image

I had some more, but our computer just had a massive hard drive failure and I had to find a creative way to get the picture from my phone to here.

Hopefully I'll get the package out to Ceri this week. Last week was a whirlwind between King of the Blues, a garage sale (my back still hurts from all the furniture lifting) and the hard drive crisis. But the sooner I can get the ball rolling, the better. :)
