It was something, that's for sure. I've spent the last couple of days trying to adjust back to regular life and I'm still pretty tried. I haven't even gotten around to unpacking yet. I'm uploading some pictures and hopefully I'll be able to make a more in depth post about everything soon.

As far as the build goes, I kept my eye out for parts at the guitar show and honestly there wasn't the best selection for that. There were tons of cool vintage guitars, including a lot of 50s and 60s Fenders, but just not very many parts. I thought I had found a cool pickguard for it, white pearloid which had aged a bit, but it turns out the pickguard has shrunken over time and won't fit the body. Which isn't really a big deal since it was really cheap.

Well, I just left a message at USA Custom Guitars. I have a few questions to ask before ordering, but other than that I'm set to order the neck. :D But I just realized that I said "y'all" several times in the message. Those guys are up in Washington so they're probably going to get a kick out of it when they listen to it.

I'm going to try to make as much headway as I can on the project today since it's my first afternoon of free time in over a week. Next up I'm going to research what the best way to get my EJ body to England will be. Unfortunately I'm held up in the parts ordering department since my guitar tech is on vacation this week and he's the one at the shop who orders all the parts. In a way it's a good thing, because now I have time to get a shopping list together.

Before I order though, does anyone have a spare bridge assembly laying around? Or a tortoise shell pickguard? Or parchment/aged plastic parts? If not, that's all right I'll just get them from Allparts. :)

All right, the ball is rolling on a lot of things right now! :D

I've just placed an order with Allparts for a '62 Vintage Fender Tremolo system. I ended up choosing it for a couple reasons.
-I hardy ever use the tremolo anyway, it's not really worth going through a two point conversion when I know I'm probably only going to use it like once a month.
-The neck is going to matter more than string spacing anyway. I'm getting more and more used to my Highway One. And the more I play it, the more I'm confident wider spacing is something I can get used to.

I also got an aged tortoise shell pickguard (the only difference between it and a regular tortoise shell is that it has parchment layers instead of white) and a jack plate. I nearly ordered the plastic parts (knobs and tips) but I think I'll probably do that last after I can see what everything looks like together. It's not a really big deal either, just about $4.

Hopefully I'll be able to send the body to Ceri as soon as I make sure everything fits on it correctly. It should, since I'm mostly sticking to what it's already equipped to handle.

I haven't heard back from USACG, but I'm going to email them with a couple of questions. As soon as they answer I'll place my order for the neck.

And just so you don't have to go through a bunch of pages to find it, this is what the finished guitar ought to look like.

That's going to be gorgeous...

...it makes me want to replace the black 'guard on my vintage white Telecaster with a tortoise one. Hmm...

Yeah, I'm getting really excited about it. :) Not that I wasn't before, but now it's actually happening.

Saddles for 2 3/16" string spacing would work on an American '62 Vintage tremolo, correct?

white + tortoise = classic. I can't wait to see the finished product.

About three weeks ago. If you haven't received it yet, might have been lost, I still have some extra pots and tuners ( for another project) if you still need them.
