You mean the protective film or words and/or pictures stickers?
I don't know either way, by the way :D

Sorry about that what I mean when you buy a new strat and they have the round stick on the pickguard with the specs and the name the guitar so on . I just got a 1978 Fender bass and the pickguard looks like it had the sticker on it but I dont know what year they started doing that? Thanks

That sticker and plastic film should be taken off the guard. I wouldn`t leave it on it tends to discolor the pickguard.
