I have this 110V model of the Princeton 65 DSP and Im in China (220V) so I accidentally plugged it in using the wrong transformer. So, I saw some spark (blew a fuse) and the unit died. I bought the right transformer now and I opened up the amp and saw that the fuse blew. I found some replacement fuses around the house but it is not the recommended 2A specs. Luckily when I plugged my amp it got to work again. My question is this:

Is there any possibility that there are some electric current that escaped the fuse and could have damaged some chips or capacitors, power supply or even the circuit board slightly? Im worried because somehow at clean channel at level 1-2, I can hear a very faint Overdrive sound as if the Dirty channel is crossing over, And when all knobs are turned to 0 I still can hear faint guitar sound. Im thinking if this could be some after effect of the short circuit (if there is any). Should I worry about it much or just think of it as only a minor case of a “BLOWN” fuse. It’s the first real good sounding amp I have had in all my years of playing so..

Also I couldn’t find 2A rated fuser here what rating can I use for the meantime to enjoy playing? Generaly its working fine with all the effects working, input working, channels working etc.

Thanks so much. Talk about amplifier Hypochondria.

You'd best take the amp in to get it checked.

Also for 220V usage you should be dropping to a 1 Amp fuse. The 2 Amp rating is only for 100 - 120 Volt usage.

Snowy.
