...Oops. In light of the recent censorship thread I realise my last post might have caused terrible offence to someone. Somewhere.

Let's put that right: here's the decent version:

It probably would be if it was for sale but it was built explicitly as the milestone and will stay there at the factory on display in their Museum. If you're ever in the area swing by there for the tour, its really something and free to the public.

Pretty sweet! I especially like the scrimshaw inlays! Lot's of time and patience went into that guitar. I'm sure one day it'll be for sale; for an astronomical amount of money.

Hi Tim: ooo, I doubt it. Martin put these things into their museum and keep 'em safe there forever. Here's their millionth guitar:

That was done by master inlay artist Larry Robinson. There is a fabulous little book of his work that is well worth having for anyone interested in this stuff.

My personal fave was Martin's 750,000th guitar, the Peacock Martin. Robinson says the border alone had over 2000 pieces of inlay in it. He doesn't say how many are in the peacock itself:

That is absolutely as good as it gets! 8)

I got to see and hold the 1,000,000th Martin when it was on tour a few years back. It was very impressive!
